This past weekend was too beautiful to stay home and do practical things like cleaning or the laundry, so we decided to head into the foothills of the North Georgia mountains with some Fall Snack Mix for an adventure.
There are a number of wineries within a two hour drive of our home. It may seem like a 100% adult thing to do, but on Sunday afternoon they were crowded with families. There were some amazing outdoor spaces, live music, and places to play. Only in the South would a business’s hours be determined by weddings and football. Where’s my fellow Southerners? You get it, right?
I’ve decided that having a soccer ball is the quickest way to make friends because the kids had several within a few minutes. One of the wineries also had cornhole, lacrosse sticks, and a little stream with tadpoles in it.
My husband and I sat nearby and watched the kids play while enjoying a glass of local wine and taking in the view of the mountains above the vineyard.
I knew that these adventures would make everyone hungry, so I made a Fall Snack Mix to take along. I love snack mixes because they’re so versatile and portable. I put it in spider web bags for a little extra Halloween fun.
The snack mix is a combination of pretzels in fun Halloween shapes, potato sticks, peanuts, dried cranberries, candy corn, and pumpkin seeds.
Are you looking for something to take a Halloween party? This Fall Snack Mix would be perfect! It would be easy to leave out the peanuts to avoid any allergy issues.
Our snack mix was gone right about the time my daughter fell by the cornhole set and managed to get a ton of tiny little splinters in her hand and leg. Tears = time to leave. Despite that little hiccup, we had a wonderful fall afternoon.
